The Bubble

The hallways at Perrysburg High School have always been crowded. It is not that the school can't handle many people-- it's a phenomenon I like to call Freshmen Bubble Circles. I love to walk into my dear school at 7:10; it is so much fun knowing that my day will be filled with so much education.

But, alas, my day is ruined when I begin my trek to my British Literature class, humongous English book in hand. (Or as Sarah H so quaintly put it, my "Brick Lit"). I find my journey blocked by the perils of passing through many students, usually underclassmen (yes, forgive me-- I know some upperclassmen are guilty. I have thought it over) forming gigantic circle of people. I see reason to the circling of friends who want to catch up with the latest news and gossip.

My problem is not a particular circle, but that many circles alternate in the hallways. This make me feel like a proverbial salmon making my way up the river of education. I have a few solutions for this problem, some more humane than others.

The first may be harsh but it would work. We pass a law so that no underclassmen can have friends at school; no friends equal no hallway problems. I see it now: all the parents writing in saying how cruel I am.

Fine. I will  change the idea to something I thought of my junior year. We simply equip every upperclassman with either a cattle prod or a stun gun. Every time the upperclassmen have to squeeze their way through the bubble, they simply make a hole.

Fine. Too cruel. They could possibly just learn from us.

One--we just come late enough to come to class.

Two--we sit against the wall and talk.

Finally, I know it's a huge concept but some can do it: that is, walk and talk at the same time till the 5 minute bell rings.

I just hope that I am not the only one who feels this way and makes myself look like a HUGE dork. That's just me.

Andrew
